Lahore: (Staff Reporter) – The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 was conducted smoothly across Punjab on Sunday, with 47,501 candidates appearing at 31 examination centres in 15 cities.
The test, conducted by the University of Health Sciences (UHS), commenced at 10am and concluded at 1pm. Of the 49,203 candidates registered for the examination, 1,702 remained absent.
Lahore recorded the highest number of candidates with 11,480 appearances, followed by Multan with 6,911 and Rawalpindi with 6,045.
UHS Vice Chancellor Maj Gen (retd) Prof Sohail Sabir visited examination centres in Lahore along with senior officials to review arrangements. He also met examination staff, faculty members and focal persons deployed at the centres.
Secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department Punjab Azmat Mahmud also visited various examination centres in Lahore and inspected the arrangements.
Comprehensive security and monitoring measures were implemented at all examination centres. These included NADRA biometric verification, walk-through gates, scanners, security personnel and medical facilities.
Around 3,700 invigilators and supervisory staff performed duties during the examination. Vice chancellors and pro vice chancellors of public-sector medical universities served as regional in-charges, while principals of medical and dental colleges supervised individual examination centres.
District administrations also arranged traffic management, parking, drinking water, medical assistance, emergency response and crowd-control measures to facilitate candidates.
The UHS provided candidates with carbon copies of their response forms immediately after the examination. The university said the MDCAT 2026 answer key would be released after 6pm, enabling candidates to calculate their expected scores.
The official MDCAT 2026 result is expected to be announced within one week.
