National Conference Highlights Operation Bunyan Marsoos as Regional Game-Changer

Lahore — A national conference titled “Operation Bunyan Marsoos: Redefining Regional Power Dynamics” was held today at Hameed Nizami Hall, University of the Punjab. The event was jointly organized by the Center for Knowledge and Public Policy, Daily Sarzameen, and the Department of Communication Studies & Journalism, University of the Punjab.

The conference brought together a large audience of students, faculty members, researchers, and media professionals. The session was moderated by Zulkafil Hassan Khan, Executive Director of the Center for Knowledge and Public Policy.

Lt Gen (R) Nasser Janjua, the guest of honour, delivered the keynote address. He described the May 2025 Pakistan-India conflict as a “miracle beyond imagination,” crediting the victory to national unity, strategic leadership, and the professionalism of Pakistan’s armed forces. He stated that the operation not only dismantled India’s military myth but also redefined South Asia’s power dynamics, elevating Pakistan’s standing in the regional and global arena. The retired general also took part in an interactive Q&A session with attendees.

Prof. Dr Noshina Saleem, Chairperson of the Department of Communication Studies & Journalism, commended the role of national media and the ISPR in effectively countering Indian propaganda. She emphasized the urgent need for a comprehensive and coordinated media strategy to safeguard national interests.

Rana Safdar Ali Khan, Chief Editor of Daily Sarzameen, outlined the geopolitical gains of the operation, while Prof. Dr Mian Hanan Ahmed described it as a symbol of the Pakistan Armed Forces’ bravery and professionalism that helped stabilize the region.

Dr Mehmood Ul Hassan Khan, President of the Center for Knowledge and Public Policy, discussed the broader geopolitical and geo-economic impact of Operation Bunyan Marsoos. He pointed to strengthened ties with global powers such as China, Russia, and the United States, a rise in foreign investment, and enhanced regional influence. He also highlighted how the operation exposed India’s aggressive posture and reinforced Pakistan’s role as a guarantor of peace in South Asia.

The conference concluded that Operation Bunyan Marsoos represents a pivotal moment in Pakistan’s military and diplomatic history — a strategic game-changer that redefined power balances both regionally and globally.
