Israel has reportedly maintained that the militant group Hezbollah will not be included in the negotiations.
Earlier reports indicated that initial contact between Lebanon and Israel had already been established ahead of the US-mediated talks. According to the Lebanese presidency, this preliminary communication took place through the two countries’ ambassadors in Washington, marking a significant diplomatic development amid recent tensions.
Sources say the upcoming meeting at the United States Department of State will focus on finalizing a ceasefire framework and setting a formal date for further negotiations.

Meanwhile, following a ceasefire between Iran and the United States, Israel reportedly carried out strikes in Lebanon, resulting in heavy casualties and further escalating the situation.
