Lahore riot police to get fresh vehicles, animals
Six elite horses, eight dogs join Lahore police
LAHORE-(Special Correspondent/Web desk) To improve crowd control, Punjab has planned upgrades for its Riot Management Police. The force will get horses, dogs, two water cannons, and an armored vehicle to manage violent protests, public unrest, and large demonstrations more effectively.
Eight Belgian Malinois dogs worth Rs5 million and six high-breed horses costing the same will be purchased. Professional trainers will handle their training to ensure they are ready for deployment.

The Lahore and Rawalpindi Riot Management Police units will also receive two water cannons and an armored vehicle. When necessary, the Anti-Riot Force’s existing equipment will be put into action as well.
Tenders for buying the animals and vehicles are expected to be issued before the end of the current fiscal year.
