Lahore High Court Assures Protection to Young Doctors amid Sahiwal Inquiry
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the rights of young doctors, ordering an inquiry into the Sahiwal incident while halting harassment against medical professionals. Acting Chief Justice Shujaat Ali Khan emphasized the court’s stance on ensuring a safe environment for doctors, underscoring their vital role in society.
During proceedings, Justice Shujaat Ali Khan urged doctors to prioritize hospital duties over legal battles, expressing concern over their presence in court. He highlighted the need for resolving issues on the ground rather than through prolonged strikes.

Addressing the Young Doctors Association’s plea for a judicial inquiry, Justice Shujaat Ali Khan assured them that the court would provide necessary protections, emphasizing that doctors and engineers are crucial assets to Pakistan.
The Lahore High Court adjourned further hearings until September 11, instructing all parties to submit detailed responses, marking a pivotal step towards resolving tensions and fostering a supportive environment for healthcare professionals in Punjab.
