Khurram Shines with Four-Wicket Haul as Quetta Dominates Multan

PSL 10: Multan Sultans Set 90-Run Target for Quetta Gladiators in Must-Win Clash

Lahore — In the 18th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, Multan Sultans were bowled out for just 89 runs in 17 overs, setting a modest target of 90 runs for Quetta Gladiators at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.

Multan’s batting lineup crumbled under pressure, with nine of their players failing to reach double figures. Captain Mohammad Rizwan was the lone fighter, remaining unbeaten on 44 runs. Usama Mir contributed 11 runs, while the rest of the batting order fell cheaply—Yasir Khan (5), Usman Khan (0), Kamran Ghulam (3), Iftikhar Ahmed (6), and Michael Bracewell (0).

Quetta Gladiators’ bowlers dominated the innings. Khurram Shahzad was the standout performer, claiming four wickets, while Mohammad Wasim Jr. and Faheem Ashraf picked up two wickets each.

Quetta Gladiators’ skipper Saud Shakeel had earlier won the toss and opted to bowl first, a decision that paid off handsomely. Notably, Quetta made no changes to their playing XI for this fixture.

This match holds crucial importance for Multan Sultans, as it is a must-win encounter to keep their playoff hopes alive. A loss would significantly dent their chances of progressing to the next stage. So far, Multan have managed only one win from six matches this season, while Quetta have won three out of five.

In head-to-head clashes, Multan have dominated, winning nine matches compared to Quetta’s four. Multan also hold the upper hand in recent encounters, having won the last five matches between the two sides.

All eyes are now on whether Multan’s bowlers can defend the low total in this do-or-die contest.
