Karachi hit by widespread rain and severe thunderstorm activity
PMD warns of more thunderstorms ahead as rain hits Karachi neighbourhoods with humidity touching 83%
Karachi – (Web Desk) – Karachi cites woke up to a rainy Thursday as showers swept through much of the city, bringing brief spells of rain to neighbourhoods one after another throughout the day.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) says the weather isn’t done yet — more rain, gusty winds and thunderstorms are expected to roll into Karachi as the day goes on, so it’s best to keep an umbrella handy.
Surjani Town and Gulshan-e-Maymar were among the first areas to get drenched, while loud thunderstorm activity rattled the skies near the airport and Malir. Residents of the Old City Area, Saddar, Korangi, Defence and Clifton also got their share of the downpour.
Intermittent showers were also reported in Malir, Quaidabad, Landhi and PECHS, while Shah Faisal Colony, Nazimabad and Garden saw rain in phases.
