Karachi Court Grants Three-Day Physical Remand To Pinky

Inquiry Ordered Into Police Handling Of Arrested Drug Dealer Pinky

KARACHI: (Web Desk) – A court in Karachi has approved a three-day physical remand of accused Anmol alias “Pinky,” a suspected female drug dealer arrested earlier this week.

Police presented the accused before the sessions court in Karachi South after filing a review appeal, seeking further custody for investigation.

According to earlier reports, Pinky’s name had first surfaced in 2022 when her brother, Riaz Baloch, allegedly informed Lahore police that she was involved in drug supply activities. At that time, over one kilogram of narcotics was recovered from him, while Pinky reportedly escaped from the scene.

Investigators now say the accused may be handed over to a federal investigative agency for further questioning.

In a separate development, authorities have also revealed that Pinky has been nominated in a murder case, adding another serious charge to the ongoing investigation.

Officials further said that before her arrest, she recorded a voice message in which she allegedly named a successor and instructed clients to contact that person after her detention.

Meanwhile, police have launched an internal inquiry into alleged procedural irregularities. DIG West Irfan Ali Baloch has replaced SSP South Mehroze Ali as head of the investigation committee and has been directed to submit a report within three days.

The inquiry team will record statements from three police officers and two female constables who were suspended over allegations of VIP treatment given to the accused at the police station and during court appearances.

Investigators will also examine CCTV footage from the Garden police station to determine the conditions of her detention and handling.

Authorities said the probe will also assess whether standard arrest procedures, including handcuffing during court production, were properly followed.
