Karachi Central: JI’s Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman wins
PPP wins Hyderabad LG Polls with a big lead,
Karachi _Jamaat-e-Islami’s (JI) strong candidate for mayorship of Karachi, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has won his seat as chairman from Central District with a good margin against the PPP and the PTI candidates.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman is a party head of JI Karachi. The duo of Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman and Zulfikar Ahmed bagged a total of 6,388 votes.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Abubakar got 1,815 and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Sahabzada obtained only 949 votes.
Hafiz Naeem ur Rahman was the candidate of JI for chairmanship from North Nazimabad Town’s Al-Falah Union Council number 8.
The Election Commission released the complete results of 130 out of 160 Union Councils (UCs) in the second phase of the Local Government Elections in Hyderabad.
PPP succeeded 82 chairman and vice chairman seats including 31 unopposed candidates from Hyderabad.
The channel report said that the PPP got more than the required majority of votes to elect the mayor of Hyderabad now.
The PTI emerged as the second biggest party in Hyderabad by winning 37 Union Committees.
From Hyderabad, 9 independent candidates won while Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) succeeded to win one seat each.
