Jamaat-e-Islami declares Nationwide Protest against Inflation, IMF-Backed Budget

KARACHI: Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, declared that the party will stage a countrywide protest against inflation and increased electricity bills, vehemently rejecting the IMF-supported budget.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman criticized the government’s policies, attributing them to the country’s current economic woes.
“The poor and marginalized are bearing the brunt of unjust policies; children are being deprived of education and forced into labor,” he lamented, citing a staggering 35% tax hike that Jamaat-e-Islami refuses to endorse.
Expressing discontent over tax policies favoring elites over farmers, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman emphasized the need for equity and transparency in governance. He urged the youth to rally against oppression and join the movement against economic disparity.
Highlighting alleged misappropriations in investment and agreements with Independent Power Producers (IPPs), Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman stressed the public’s right to information and accountability.
The upcoming protest aims to mobilize public outcry against economic injustice and government policies perceived as detrimental to the masses.
