CDA Board Meets to Revive Cinema Industry, Boost Finances

Islamabad-The 13th meeting of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board was held on Wednesday, chaired by Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting focused on reviving Islamabad’s cinema industry, improving financial affairs, and enhancing infrastructure,

The meeting discussed various agenda items.
The meeting decided to revive cinema industry in Islamabad. In this regard, it was directed that proposals be submitted for redevelopment of the plots, in accordance with law, allotted in the past for the establishment of cinemas. It was decided in the meeting that modern cinemas will be established in the city according to international standards. Similarly, approval was also given to introduce 4 more sites for the establishment of cinemas.

In order to improve the financial affairs of CDA, it was also decided in the meeting to place Resource Wing of authority under administrative control of Member Finance. The purpose of placing the Resource Wing under administrative control of Member Finance is to achieve the revenue targets, explore new sources of revenue and identify the loopholes in the revenue collection process. It was decided in the meeting that the Resource Wing will introduce technology and modern practices in the financial and other maters of the authority.

The meeting further decided to hire the services of transaction advisor for IT Park, Sector G-10.

The CDA Board also approved the proposal regarding conducting feasibility and designing of the Islamabad Bus Terminal through the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The CDA Board also gave approval to seek advisory services Public Private Partnership Authority (P3A) for various projects.
