Islamabad sets 8PM market closure under new austerity measures

Islamabad-(Mudassar Iqbal/X Post)-The Islamabad District Administration has announced revised business closing timings across the capital as part of ongoing austerity measures, effective from April 23, 2026, until further notice.

According to officials, all shops, markets, and shopping malls must close by 8:00 PM throughout the week. However, essential services such as pharmacies, hospitals, petrol pumps, CNG stations, and dairy shops are exempt from the restrictions.

Restaurants, tandoors, grocery stores, and other food outlets have been directed to close by 10:00 PM, although takeaway and delivery services will continue without limitations.

Additionally, marriage halls, marquees, event venues, as well as sports facilities, clubs, and gyms, are required to shut down operations by 10:00 PM.

The administration has urged both the public and the business community to ensure full compliance with the new regulations.
