Investigations revealed that fake documentation was used to facilitate the illegal transfer of land

Islamabad – In a significant development, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed a reference against nine individuals in a high-profile case involving the alleged misappropriation and illegal allotment of valuable government land in Sector E-11, Islamabad.

Among the accused are influential religious figures from Golra Sharif and former senior officials of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), including land and estate officers.

According to NAB, the accused fraudulently claimed government land through forged documents and unlawful means, thereby causing a financial loss of millions of rupees to the national exchequer.

The nominated individuals include former CDA Director Land Khalid Mehmood, former Member Estate Shaista Sohail, former Deputy Director Raja Zahid Hussain, and former Additional Director Syed Ghulam Hussamuddin. Several members of the prominent clerical family from Golra Sharif have also been named as co-accused.

Investigations revealed that fake documentation was used to facilitate the illegal transfer of land, with alterations made to official records. Some former CDA officials allegedly misused their authority to enable the fraudulent activity.

Sources say the reference has been submitted to the Islamabad Accountability Court, and formal proceedings are expected to begin soon.

NAB officials affirmed that actions against the illegal use of public lands and abuse of power will continue, stressing that no one is above the law.
