Islamabad Issues Traffic Diversion Plan for Next Week

The Red Zone and Extended Red Zone will remain completely closed for all kinds of traffic

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk0 – Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued a detailed traffic diversion plan for next week due to the arrival of foreign delegations in the federal capital.

The Red Zone and Extended Red Zone will remain completely closed for all kinds of traffic. Citizens are advised to use alternate routes and cooperate with traffic police to ensure smooth flow.

Traffic Advisory Details (Effective from Monday, 19 April 2026)

The Islamabad Traffic Police has issued the following restrictions:

  1. All types of traffic will remain closed on the road from G-7/G-8 intersection (near Nadra) to the G-8 intersection (near G-8 Markaz).
  2. Traffic coming from Margalla Road will be diverted towards F-7, F-6, G-6, G-5.
  3. Traffic coming from Faisal Avenue will be diverted towards F-7, F-6, G-6, G-5.
  4. Traffic coming from 9th Avenue will be diverted towards F-7, F-6, G-6, G-5.
  5. Traffic coming from Constitution Avenue will be diverted towards F-7, F-6, G-6, G-5.
  6. Traffic coming from the direction of Rawal Dam will be diverted towards G-7.
  7. Traffic coming from the direction of Aabpara will be diverted towards G-7.
  8. Traffic coming from the direction of Serena Hotel will be diverted towards G-7.
  9. Traffic coming from the direction of Aabpara will be diverted towards G-7.
  10. Traffic coming from the direction of Blue Area will be diverted towards G-7.

These restrictions will remain in place until the high-level talks conclude in the capital.

ITP has asked all citizens to plan their travel accordingly and follow the directions of traffic police personnel on duty.
