Islamabad High Court Mandates Swift Bail Ruling for PTI Founder

Islamabad: High Court (IHC) has mandated a swift decision on the bail requests of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in the Toshakhana 2 case. In a three-page ruling, Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb emphasized the National Judicial Policy, which outlines strict deadlines for resolving bail applications: three days for magistrates, five days for sessions courts, and seven days for high courts. This decision underscores the urgency of the case, as the bail applications are currently with the Special Judge Central following the transfer of the case to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

The court’s directive reinforces the importance of adhering to these timeframes, ensuring timely justice for the applicants involved.

The petitioners’ legal team had previously sought a prompt resolution, pointing out the undue delays in the bail decision. The Islamabad High Court’s directive now requires the special court to comply with the five-day deadline for delivering a ruling on the bail application.
