Iran’s Guards hit US military bases in Jordan, Bahrain and Kuwait

Iran Launches Strikes On US Bases Following Fresh American Military Attacks

TEHRAN: (Special Reporter) – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Monday that it had launched attacks against American military facilities in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait in response to a fresh wave of US airstrikes inside Iran. According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, the operations targeted Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan, a US drone command center in Bahrain, and several military installations, including Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.

Jordan’s military reported that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed four Iranian missiles after they entered the country’s airspace. Officials said the missiles were fired from Iranian territory and confirmed there were no casualties or damage resulting from the interceptions.

Authorities in Bahrain activated air raid sirens and urged residents to seek shelter as Iranian attacks targeted US interests in the Gulf region. The Interior Ministry advised citizens and residents to remain calm while moving to the nearest safe locations.

Kuwait also confirmed that its armed forces were engaging hostile aerial threats over the country’s airspace. Military officials stated that air defense units were actively intercepting incoming targets following the regional escalation.

Earlier, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American forces had carried out another round of military operations across Iran. The strikes reportedly focused on Iranian air defense systems, coastal radar installations, missile launch capabilities, drone infrastructure, and small naval vessels using fighter aircraft, naval assets, attack drones, and sea drones.

The latest military exchanges have further weakened an interim understanding between Washington and Tehran that had been intended to reduce tensions after months of conflict beginning earlier this year.

CENTCOM stated that Sunday’s operation began at 2100 GMT and followed approximately 140 strikes conducted the previous night. Iranian media reported explosions across southern and western Iran, including Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island, Khuzestan Province, Sirik, and Jask.

Iran also said American strikes hit Qeshm and Farur islands, resulting in casualties, including the death of a telecommunications worker and injuries to others. Separately, Iranian officials reported one fatality and four injuries after an attack on a water pumping station in Mahshahr.

The renewed confrontation followed an Iranian drone attack on a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz early Sunday, forcing its crew to abandon the burning ship. Iran later declared that the strategic waterway would remain closed until American military intervention in the region ended.

The United States rejected Iran’s claim, with CENTCOM stating that the Strait of Hormuz remained open and that US forces were deployed to safeguard international shipping and ensure freedom of navigation.

The importance of the Strait of Hormuz has become central to the crisis. Mohsen Rezaee, an adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, described the passage as more valuable than “dozens of atomic bombs,” emphasizing Tehran’s determination to defend it.

Diplomatic efforts to restore calm have suffered another setback, despite recent attempts by international mediators to revive negotiations. Iran’s Foreign Ministry accused the United States of reigniting instability in the Gulf and undermining ongoing peace initiatives.

The conflict also affected neighboring countries. Kuwait reported damage to several northern border posts and an offshore drilling platform, while Oman lodged a formal diplomatic protest after accusing Iran of targeting its territory. The move came shortly after Muscat hosted Iran’s foreign minister for discussions on regional security and maritime stability.

Meanwhile, a Cyprus-flagged commercial vessel caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz following an Iranian strike. India confirmed that one of its sailors remained missing, while Oman’s rescue services safely evacuated 23 crew members from another ship in the area.

The United Nations renewed its call for restraint, with Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urging both Washington and Tehran to halt military operations and pursue dialogue to prevent further regional instability.

Former US President Donald Trump told CNN that negotiations with Iran had nearly succeeded before the latest attacks, claiming Tehran reversed course after targeting a commercial vessel and prompting a forceful American response.
