Tehran Acknowledges Islamabad’s Efforts in Regional Diplomacy

TEHRAN: (Web Desk) – Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, has praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States, describing Islamabad as a sincere and constructive mediator during the negotiations.

Speaking at a ceremony commemorating the 37th death anniversary of Ruhollah Khomeini, the ambassador expressed gratitude to the Government of Pakistan and the country’s military leadership for their role in supporting diplomatic engagement.

The envoy reiterated Iran’s preference for resolving disputes through negotiations, emphasizing that diplomacy remains Tehran’s preferred path. However, he stressed that any negotiations must respect Iran’s national interests and sovereignty.

According to the ambassador, Iran remains committed to dialogue but will not accept pressure or coercion from the United States or other Western nations. He maintained that meaningful progress can only be achieved through mutual respect and balanced engagement.

Moghadam also referred to recent regional tensions involving Lebanon, claiming that Iran had issued strong warnings regarding potential military action against Beirut. He asserted that Tehran’s response and military capabilities played a role in influencing subsequent diplomatic developments.
