TEHRAN: (Web Desk) – Iran’s nationwide internet blackout, which began more than a month ago, has now become the longest of its kind on record, according to internet monitor NetBlocks.
NetBlocks reported that the shutdown has entered its 37th consecutive day, totaling 864 hours, surpassing all previous nationwide internet blackouts in both duration and severity. The organization noted that while some countries have experienced longer intermittent or regional shutdowns, Iran’s case is unprecedented for a full, nationwide disconnection.
