International Scientific Physics Olympiad invites applications

Registration for the International Scientific Physics Olympiad (ISPhO) is open, Russia, the host country said on Friday. It is set to take place in Khanty-Mansyisk from July 3 to 11.

Tech: International Scientific Physics Olympiad invites applications. The event is organized by the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) and backed by the Russian Ministry of Education, inviting national physics teams to compete and showcase their talents.

The Olympiad welcomes teams from various countries to participate. The final line up of the team members must be confirmed by May 15

The Olympiad will consist of both theoretical and experimental components, testing participants’ knowledge and problem-solving skills.

The syllabus for the tasks aligns with the Asian Physics Olympiad, ensuring a comprehensive and challenging experience.

The event also includes a scientific festival with review lectures and information sessions to prepare participants for the challenges ahead.

The organisers acknowledge the potential for travel limitations and offer remote participation options.

Teams facing difficulties attending in person can request remote participation via email.

Eligibility criteria

The participants from different countries can send a delegation of up to five student competitors and two accompanying heads of delegation.

Participants should be under 20 years old as of July 31, 2024, and heads of delegation should have expertise in physics and proficiency in English. Observers and guests are also welcome to attend the event.
