India Must Recognize Disputed Status of Occupied Kashmir, Grant Self-Determination”

Anwarul Haq Slams India's Defense Minister Over Kashmir Remarks"

Muzaffarabad-(Staff Reporter)_The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, has responded to the statement of India’s Defense Minister regarding Azad Kashmir, saying that the people of Azad Kashmir are well aware of India’s tyrannical and oppressive character.

Haq highlighted India’s human rights abuses in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, citing the martyrdom of 100,000 civilians since 1989, thousands of cases of mass rape, and the discovery of over 8,000 anonymous mass graves. He emphasized that occupied Jammu and Kashmir has been turned into a prison, with civilians living on the ceasefire line also suffering due to India’s aggression.

The Prime Minister asserted that no citizen of Azad Kashmir wants to live with India, enjoying basic human rights and development opportunities in Azad Kashmir instead. He credited the Pakistan Army with always playing a protective role.

Haq urged India to respect the opinion of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, recognizing its disputed status and taking steps to grant the right of self-determination as per United Nations resolutions.
