Hira Soomro Calls Out Senior Actresses Over Age Comments

KARACHI (Showbiz Desk): Pakistani actress Hira Soomro has spoken out about what she describes as unusual behavior from some senior female colleagues, saying they appear to treat her as older simply because she is a mother.

The actress addressed the issue in an Instagram Story, sharing a throwback photograph from her wedding day with her husband along with a candid message about age-related comments in the entertainment industry.

Hira said she is considerably younger than many Pakistani actresses she has worked with and does not normally concern herself with age. However, she said the situation had recently started to feel “really weird.”

She specifically referred to some of her senior female colleagues, while making it clear that her comments were not directed at male actors.

According to Hira, some senior actresses behave as though she is older than them because she has children.

The actress further explained that she married at a young age and said becoming a mother does not change her actual age or make her part of an older age group.

Hira ended her message with a pointed remark directed at those she believes are overly focused on her age, asking them to leave her age alone and focus on their own.

She accompanied the message with a wedding photograph featuring herself and her husband and added the song “FAAAHHH” by Samrai Blade to the Instagram Story, reinforcing the defiant tone of her response.

Hira Soomro has appeared in several popular Pakistani dramas, including Tere Bin and Jaan-e-Jahan. She married at a young age and is a mother of two.
