ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday released a detailed written judgement regarding a petition seeking permission for the family members and doctors of former first lady Bushra Bibi to meet her in prison.
In the 14-page ruling, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir declined to issue a direct order permitting the meetings and instead sent the matter back to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail for fresh consideration.
The court instructed the jail superintendent to review the request again and make a decision strictly according to prison rules and regulations. The judgement further stated that if the request is denied, the petitioner has the option to approach the Inspector General of Prisons for further legal remedy.
According to the written verdict, jail authorities informed the court that Bushra Bibi is being provided with daily necessities and is receiving medical treatment within the prison facility. Officials also stated that she has been shifted to an outside hospital whenever required for additional medical care.

The court observed that matters related to prisoners’ health conditions and treatment fall under the jurisdiction of executive authorities, while any objections or complaints can be pursued through the legal forums available under prison laws.
The judgement also directed that copies of the ruling be sent to the Chief Commissioner Islamabad and the Superintendent of Adiala Jail for implementation and further necessary action.
