IESCO extends Electricity Bill Payment deadline amid PTI Protests disruption
ISLAMABAD: IESCO spokesperson shared the update for consumers who will be able to pay their bills without incurring any additional surcharge until November 29, 2024. This extension aims to ease the challenges faced by users who were unable to make timely payments due to the protest-related issues.
The electricity supplier issued necessary instructions to all its offices, banks, and post offices to accommodate the extended payment period. The move is expected to provide relief to affected consumers during these challenging times.
It also emphasized that all concerned parties have been informed and necessary steps have been taken to ensure smooth processing of payments.
PTI Protests
Normal life in capital resumed today after forces successful operation to disperse PTI protesters. Roads were cleared, barricades removed, and key areas like the Red Zone were sanitized.
Motorways, including the Islamabad-Lahore (M-2) and Lahore-Sialkot routes, reopened, improving regional connectivity. Businesses resumed operations, and schools are set to reopen Thursday.

The capital city, which had experienced clashes between protesters and security forces, is now calm after the protest was ended and senior PTI leaders fled the scene.
