4.Reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to the reliable strategic cooperative partnership between Pakistan and China, and said that the completion of remarkable 75 years of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations is a historic milestone. Noted that Pakistan-China friendship is a timeless example of mutual trust, respect, and shared development; as China has fulfilled the true spirit of friendship by standing with Pakistan in every difficult time. Prayed that may Pakistan-China friendship live long; and vowed that they reiterate their resolve to further strengthen their partnership, as Pakistan and China have always shared a common stance for peace, prosperity, and stability. Underscored that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a promise of prosperity and a bright future for the people of both countries.
5.Said that Pakistan-China friendship is deeper than the oceans, higher than the Himalayas, and stronger than steel; and added that the enduring friendship spanning over 75 years will continue for generations to come. 6.Chaired a high-level meeting for a detailed briefing on wheat, agriculture, food safety and consumer protection in the province. Noted that Punjab had a record bumper wheat production this year by growing over 22 million metric tons of wheat whose sufficient stocks are currently available in Punjab. Directed the authorities concerned to establish and make operational soon an AI-based Advanced Live Dashboard to monitor wheat stocks in the province; besides protecting every single grain of wheat. Also directed them to permit licensed aggregators and stockers in Punjab to legally hold wheat by declaring their stocks; and authorised them to take strict legal action under Anti-Hoarding Act against those who fail to declare wheat stock within 02 weeks. Strictly directed the relevant authorities to control bread and naan prices, besides providing affordable flour to public in Punjab. Also directed them to provide all possible facilities and business convenience to farmers, aggregators, millers, and large stockers; besides conducting a complete overhaul and revamping of the Food Department in line with the requirements of modern governance. Relevant stakeholders apprised her that the Live Dashboard will play a key role in demand, supply monitoring, and price control of wheat for foolproof food policymaking, as it will provide second-by-second digital monitoring of wheat supply chains and stocks in the province
7.Said in her message on International Day for Biological Diversity that protection of forests and wildlife is indispensable for environmental balance and survival of life on Earth, as environmental balance and biodiversity are the foundation of life on Earth. Added that protection of natural environment is a shared national responsibility of all of us; and highlighted that effective and lasting measures are being taken to protect rare species of animals and natural environment in the province, as a special force and helpline to prevent illegal hunting are functional. Noted that for the first time in Punjab, women have also been included in the regular Wildlife Force for the care of wildlife; and the Wildlife Helpline 1107 has been activated for complaints

Congratulating the successful candidate and voters of the constituency, expressed gratitude to the people of Khushab over their support, and said that the unopposed victory in PP-83 by-election had reaffirmed public popularity of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). Vowed that journey of public service under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif would continue; and added that PML-N government had set a record of launching maximum number of public welfare and development projects within the shortest period of time
12.Directed district administrations and police officers across Punjab to remain in field, instead of staying in offices, during Eidul Azha break, while the provincial government finalised extensive arrangements for security, cleanliness and public facilitation during these holidays. Chairing a high-level video-link meeting on Eidul Azha arrangements, issued comprehensive guidelines for all deputy commissioners and district police officers, warning them that negligence or poor implementation of directions would not be tolerated
13.Directed the authorities concerned to impose a fine of Rs50,000 for throwing animal waste and offal in streets, neighbourhoods, drains and canals during Eid days. Also directed them to strictly enforce restriction on sale of sacrificial animals only in designated cattle markets; besides taking action against illegal livestock trading in unauthorised areas. Relevant authorities apprised the meeting that digital monitoring and vigilance operations would be carried out at cattle markets, while strict security arrangements would be ensured to prevent incidents of cattle theft and robbery.
Directed the relevant stakeholders to ensure a ban on proscribed organisations to collect sacrificial hides; and prohibited the use of loudspeakers at hide collection camps. Directed them to ensure special security measures and continuous combing operations in sensitive areas; besides strictly enforcing a ban on display of weapons and aerial firing
14.Directed the relevant authorities to wash Eidgahs and mosques with rose water; and ensure cleanliness in railway colonies, cantonment areas and private housing societies; besides ensuring uninterrupted water supply during Eid holidays. Also directed them to ensure display of fare lists at bus stands and inside buses, besides covering of dumping sites near airports. The meeting decided to ban temporary swings across the province, and directed the relevant authorities to conduct safety and security checks of amusement rides installed in parks. Directions were also issued for cyber patrolling to curb hate material on social media. All deputy commissioners and district police officers participating in the meeting were directed to ensure strict implementation of Eid SOPs, with a warning of strict action in case of non-compliance
15.Chaired a video-link meeting of all the stakeholders concerned to finalise a foolproof cleanliness plan for Eid-ul-Adha in the province. Approved a fine of Rs 50,000 for those who throw waste in streets and neighborhoods; and directed the relevant authorities to establish a vigilance squad to prevent and monitor dumping of animal remains and waste at prohibited places. Also directed them to ensure special cleaning and monitoring of drains, canals, and other sites in every city; and to start a comprehensive public awareness campaign to discourage people from throwing remains and waste at unauthorized locations
16.Directed to ensure cleanliness in private housing societies, railway colonies and cantonment areas on Eid-ul-Adha, as an order has been issued to especially clean 2,687 major commercial markets across Punjab. Said that for Eid-ul-Adha cleanliness, all must work as a “One Government Unit,” and added that there will be rewards and praise for high standards of cleanliness, and penalties and punishment for complaints. Provincial Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafiq and Secretary Local Government Mian Shakeel Ahmed briefed her that cleanliness will be carried out in the last hours of Chand Raat (night before Eid) in commercial markets, main highways, and intersections. They said that degradable shopping bags will be provided for disposing of remains and waste on Eid-ul-Adha; and “Suthra Punjab” (Clean Punjab) workforce will go door-to-door to collect the waste. They added that municipal corporations and tehsils will be provided with 15 additional loader rickshaws each, and 4 per Union Council (UC) for the purpose. They highlighted that on the direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, rose water will be sprayed in Eid prayer gathering halls and mosques; as ‘Suthra’ Punjab teams will be active before Eid, on Eid-ul-Adha day, and until the third day of Eid. They underscored that ‘Suthra’ Punjab teams will make announcements on rickshaws to raise public awareness about cleanliness
17.Was apprised by the relevant suthorities that province-wide Eid cleanliness operations will involve 176,000 sanitary workers and over 8,000 temporary workers. They said that for animal remains and waste, 3,800 primary collection centers and 3,100 dumping sites will be established; while 7,000 dumping points will be created across the province for disposing of remains and waste. They added that availability of dewatering machines, jetter sets, and suction units will be ensured for drain cleaning; and ‘Suthra’ Punjab will set up 4,500 special camps across the province for Eid operation. They flashed that special cleanliness arrangements will be ensured at 1,200 altar houses for collective sacrifices; and noted that during ‘Suthra’ Punjab Eid-ul-Adha operations, over 40,000 additional vehicles will be used across the province, as loader rickshaws, mini-dumpers, tractor-trolleys, and pickup trucks will be hired. They also vowed to carry out special cleaning of cemeteries across Punjab before Chand Raat
18.Was briefed that ‘Suthra Punjab’ teams will be deployed for cleanliness at 285 cattle markets and 171 sale points across the province; control rooms will be established in the offices of respective Deputy Commissioners, Managing Directors of WASA, and municipal corporations; and convenience of calling the ‘Suthra Punjab’ helpline number 1139 will be ensured. Relevant authorities also apprised her that a system is in place to obtain information from 11 different sources to resolve cleanliness complaints, as directions have been given to clear all collection points and disposal sites by the end of third day of Eid

20.Directed the authorities concerned to strictly implement security SOPs in order to ensure foolproof security in the province on Chand Raat (the night before Eid) and on Eid-ul-Adha days; besides taking extraordinary security measures at sensitive locations; besides patrols and deployment of lady police officers in markets on Chand Raat; besides ensuring real-time monitoring via Safe City cameras for security operations. Also directed Assistant Commissioners to coordinate with religious scholars (Ulema), and to install metal detectors and walk-through gates for security of Eid congregations. Said that religious scholars will be briefed by the relevant authorities on security and cleanliness arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha. Directed a strict ban on camps set up by proscribed organizations for collecting animal hides; and directed DPOs to personally visit sites to enforce the ban in this regard. Also directed to ensure a ban on hateful content on social media and other media platforms; besides taking action against motorcyclists engaged in one-wheeling and hooliganism on Eid-ul-Adha. Home Secretary Ahmed Javed Qazi, briefing her on security arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha, said that Eid prayer congregations will be held at 38,507 locations across the province; and added that under Section 144, a ban has been imposed on cooking “Siri Paya” (trotters) in public places. He highlighted that action will be taken against those who throw animal remains in drains and at public places; while a ban on aerial firing and display of weapons on Eid-ul-Adha will be ensured at all costs
21.Said in an ‘X’ message about Balochistan tragedy that shedding blood of innocent citizens and defenders of the homeland in Balochistan is tantamount to assault on humanity and integrity of Pakistan. Added that tragedy in Balochistan has left every sensitive heart bleeding; and she stands by every bereaved family in this hour of grief. Noted that sacrifices of brave soldiers and innocent citizens of the homeland will not go in vain; and prayed that Allah Almighty may grant martyrs a place in His mercy, and bestow His blessings on the injured
22.Directed DCs and DPOs to inspect buses and bus stands ahead of Eid-ul-Adha; besides getting fare lists displayed on every bus and bus stand to prevent overcharging. Also directed them to cancel route permit of any bus, and license of any bus stand found involved in overcharging the travellers; and issued directions to stop on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha all vehicles operating without a fitness certificate. Directed the Transport Department and administration to ensure a ban on passengers’ overloading
23.Directed the relevant stakeholders to provide cold water at bus stands. Authorities concerned briefed her that the Transport Department has established a helpline 1071 to address passengers’ complaints, as they can call to report overcharging

28.Said that Lahore Wastewater and Drainage Management Project (sewerage network and wastewater treatment plant at Babu Sabu) will improve the drainage system; and valued Bank’s support for the proposed surface water treatment plant at BRB Canal, as cooperation with Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) will bring positive change to urban culture. Noted that they are rapidly moving towards environmental protection and improved public health, as Punjab is moving towards a new model of urban governance. 33.Noted that a new record of public service has been set on the first day of Eid-ul-Adha, as 103% of the target in sanitation and security operation across the province was accomplished through the collaboration of ‘Suthra’ Punjab and Safe City. Herself monitored the sanitation and security operation digitally throughout the day, for which citizens praised her and her team a lot. On her directions, all Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and Assistant Commissioners remained in the field despite hot weather; while comprehensive monitoring of Eid gatherings in all small and large cities was carried out with the help of Safe City cameras, as Safe City Authority made extensive use of drone cameras for the purpose
34.As directed, mosques and Eidgahs were thoroughly cleaned, while major roads were washed a night before Eid. Moreover, in order to keep the environment of Eidgahs and mosques clean, they were fragranced with rose water; and highlighted that with the help of Safe City drone cameras, waste and remains were identified in densely populated, narrow and dark alleys and markets, and were removed immediately. Noted that over 10 million degradable plastic bags were provided in small and large cities across all districts of Multan, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur; where workers of ‘Suthra’ Punjab personally reached every home and every slaughter site, and transported the waste and remains to collection points before evening. Was briefed by the authorities concerned that residents of cities and villages were overjoyed with the success of her comprehensive sanitation operation, as a record of collecting over 120,000 tons of waste was set on the first day of Eid-ul-Adha. They said that ‘Suthra’ Punjab covered an area of over 18,810,000 kilometers; and over 1,000 kilometers of roads across the province were washed and cleaned. They added that villagers also expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for the swift removal of waste and remains for the first time, as sanitation operations also continued successfully in remote villages of South Punjab, including Taunsa and Mailsi. They underscored that residents of Okara, Sheikhupura, Bahawalnagar, Kasur, Bhakkar, Chiniot, Lodhran, and Rahim Yar Khan expressed pleasant surprise at the dedication of ‘Suthra’ Punjab workers. They flagged that sanitation was ensured through the collaboration of ‘Suthra’ Punjab and Safe City Authority in Sargodha, Sahiwal, Narowal, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Chakwal, and Gujranwala; while people in Mianwali, Gujrat, Kot Addu, Sialkot, Khanewal, and other cities also expressed satisfaction with the cleanliness. They apprised her that on the first day of Eid, 1,200 slaughter sites were thoroughly cleaned under Operation Cleanup
35.Noted that under her direct supervision, 24/7 monitoring of operation cleanup through the central control room in Lahore, via social media and helpline continued across the province on the second day of Eid-ul-Adha; as district administrations across Punjab, along with ‘Suthra’ Punjab and all other stakeholder institutions were actively working in the field with a commitment to break their previous record of public service. Authorities concerned submitted her a 2-day performance report, at which she praised the dedication of officers and staff for providing better public services in the field despite intense heat; as waste is being promptly collected and disposed of, while streets, neighborhoods, markets, intersections, and roads are being washed with surfactant and phenol. They apprised her that rose water is being sprinkled at slaughter sites, and lime is also being applied. Relevant authorities said that collection and disposal of waste continues on the second day of Eid in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Okara, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, and other cities of Punjab. They added that the process of transporting waste from doorsteps and collection points to dumping sites continued uninterrupted, as ‘Suthra’ Punjab teams are working round the clock to collect bags of waste and remains.They highlighted that citizens have paid tribute to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for the timely collection of waste on Eid along with excellent cleanliness arrangements; as once again, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, she has excellently carried forward her tradition from the last year
36.Noted that grand cleanliness operation across Punjab. continued on the third day of Eid-ul-Azha. Authorities concerned apprised her that digital monitoring of the cleanliness operation was under way through Safe City cameras; while Special Branch and other relevant institutions were also providing feedback regarding efficacy of the cleanliness operation. They said that monitoring of the cleanliness operation was being carried out via drone cameras in densely populated and narrow streets; and added that Control Room monitoring was also ongoing to oversee cleanliness operations in all cities, including Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, and Sargodha; where workers of “Suthra Punjab” (Clean Punjab) had been busy removing animal wastes and remains since early morning. They underscored that in every city, after removing wastes and remains, streets, alleys, neighborhoods, and markets were washed with phenyl and fragranced with rose water
37.As directed, Provincial Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafiq visited ‘Suthra Punjab’ Central Control Room to review effectiveness of cleanliness operations across Punjab. He was briefed in detail by the authorities concerned on ‘Suthra’ Punjab’s cleanliness operations during Eid-ul-Adha, and observed cleanliness operation on a dashboard. He was apprised of collection points, dumping sites, and other matters; and expressed satisfaction over performance of ‘Suthra Punjab’ cleanliness operation teams
38.Said that a new record of achieving 119% cleanliness target has been set in Punjab, as new cleanliness standards were set in the province with the Grand Eid Cleanliness Operation. Noted that in the first two days of Eid-ul-Adha, 222,000 tons of waste were collected, while ‘Suthra Punjab’ vehicles covered an area of 3.228 million kilometers; and over 1,054 kilometers of roads were washed across Punjab. Authorities concerned briefed her that on the second day of Eid, Suthra Punjab disposed of over 112,000 tons of animal wastes and remains in 41 districts. They said that on the second day of Eid, following her directions, Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and Assistant Commissioners remained active in the field, as wastes and remains identified through Safe City Authority cameras and drones were promptly disposed of; and roads and streets in Mandi Bahauddin, Mianwali, Nankana Sahib, Okara, Rahim Yar Khan, and Sargodha began to shine; while roads in Sialkot, Kasur, Pakpattan, Murree, and Vehari were washed with phenyl and fragranced with rose water. They added that in Wazirabad, Rajanpur, Multan, Attock, Bahawalpur, and Bahawalnagar, the cleaning of streets, neighborhoods, and sacrificial sites was completed; and highlighted that new cleanliness records for Eid-ul-Adha were set in Bhakkar, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Chakwal; and the tireless efforts of ‘Suthra Punjab’ workers bore fruit in Narowal, Jhelum, Jhang, Khushab, Dera Ghazi Khan, Hafizabad, and Gujrat. They underscored that complaints regarding cleanliness and presence of wastes in every district of Punjab were immediately addressed
39.Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said in an ‘X’ message that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif underwent a major surgery at Sharif Medical City Hospital, after which she has moved to home. She added that with the grace of Allah Almighty, on the day of Eid, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif personally monitored security, cleanliness, and all other provincial affairs directly from the hospital
40.On her directions, live monitoring of the biggest ongoing special clean-up operation in Punjab’s history was conducted; as for the first time, a mechanism for real-time reporting on cleanliness from 08 different sources and radars has been made functional; while Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners remained in the field; while clean-up operations began in the districts of Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, and Sahiwal; where ‘Suthra Punjab’ teams and workers reached and were active in every street and neighborhood. Authorities concerned apprised her that special cleaning was performed at dawn in mosques, Eid prayer grounds, cemeteries, markets, roads, neighborhoods, and streets; while routes to mosques and Eid prayer grounds were cleaned, roads washed, and lime marking done. They said that special arrangements were made at tehsil and district hospitals, where ACs and DCs were conducting visits; and added that special teams were active to monitor disposal of wastes and remains in streets and markets; and a fine of up to PKR 50,000 may have been imposed for throwing wastes and remains in streets and markets. They highlighted that streets and markets were cleaned, washed with phenyl, and sprayed with rose water; while camps of ‘Suthra Punjab’ were also set up in 4,000 union councils of Punjab. Over 176,000 workers of ‘Suthra Punjab’ were mobilized, while an additional 8,000 workers were hired for special Eid-ul-Adha cleanliness operations. Over 40,000 ‘Suthra Punjab’ vehicles were mobilized, and an additional 12,000 loader rickshaws were hired for the Eid operations. 02 loader rickshaws have been assigned in small union councils, 03 in medium ones, and 04 in large union councils to lift waste. Over 15 million eco-friendly bags were delivered door-to-door for disposal of wastes and remains; while camps of ‘Suthra Punjab’ have been set up at various locations to distribute eco-friendly bags. Citizens could call 1139 helpline for immediate resolution of cleanliness-related complaints, as on her directions, cleanliness-related complaints were resolved immediately
41.Directed all relevant departments to remain on high alert during torrential rains in the province, in order to ensure immediate drainage of rainwater, besides continuous monitoring and effective oversight of WASA operations for swift removal of rainwater. Also directed continuous monitoring of disposal and storm water drains; besides not allowing rainwater to accumulate in urban areas; and the Irrigation Department teams to remain fully alert in the field to continuously monitor flow of water in canals. Directed to ensure that all manholes in urban and rural areas have their covers in place, besides taking all safety measures during rains
42.Directed to take all necessary safety arrangements to prevent unpleasant incidents at construction sites during rains; besides conducting special monitoring of dilapidated and structurally sensitive buildings. Also directed district administrations to issue alerts regarding roof collapse risks; besides making special arrangements to keep traffic flowing on major highways and main roads. Directed teams of Safe City Authority and CTO to remain fully alert in this regard, in order to maintain public guidance and communication for traffic management; and directed all relevant departments and field teams across the province to remain fully prepared for the protection of public life and property
43.’Suthra Punjab’ team has broken its own record of last year by setting a new record of collecting over 376,000 tons of animal waste and garbage on Chand Raat (Night before Eid) and all three days of Eid, compared to 357,000 tons of waste, remains, and garbage collected in 2025. Authorities concerned briefed her that ‘Suthra Punjab’ teams collected 55,000 tons of waste on Chand Raat, 126,188 tons of waste and remains on the first day of Eid, 113,233 tons on the second day, and 82,163 tons on the third day. They said that across the province, household waste and remains were delivered to designated collection points and dumping sites; and added that citizens expressed satisfaction with ‘Suthra Punjab’ workers going door-to-door across the province on Eid-ul-Adha; and thanked Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for the timely and prompt removal of waste and remains
44.Said that during Eid cleanliness operation, all Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and Assistant Commissioners remained in the field for supervision; while continuous monitoring was carried out from control rooms established at provincial, divisional, district, and tehsil levels. Added that for the first time, Safe City cameras and drone cameras were extensively used to identify waste and remains
45.Said that Punjab’s grand cleanliness operation on Eid-ul-Azha set records after records by employing 1,84,000 workers, deploying 60,000 vehicles, covering an area of 06 million kilometers, and collecting 360,000 tons of waste; besides cleaning 60,000 mosques, imambargahs, and Eidgahs; and fragrancing 4,000 locations with rose water. Expressed gratitude for the success of Eid-ul-Adha cleanliness operation, and congratulated the entire team for the success of grand cleanliness operation, achieved by working hard on all three days of Eid-ul-Adha. Noted that success of unprecedented and historic Eid-ul-Adha cleanliness operation is the result of excellent teamwork on all three days of Eid-ul-Adha; and acknowledged that Minister for Local Government, IG Police, Commissioners, DCs, district administrations, DG Suthra Punjab, MD WASA, Safe City team, Police, Special Branch, social media team, and every department involved deserve praise and appreciation, as officers and personnels of every department that participated in the cleanliness operation are commendable
46.Said that excellent cleanliness, disposal operation, security arrangements, and continuous monitoring are outstanding examples of success, as the public was given a sense of relief and ease through unprecedented cleanliness. Added that entire team in the cleanliness operation set an example by working together in an organized and united manner, with cooperation, dedication, and day-and-night effort. Highlighted that the highest standard of cleanliness was set on Eid-ul-Adha this year, as operational response of the cleanliness operation was appreciated at every level
47.Said that officers and their teams who ensured implementation of SOPs in the field with responsibility deserve special praise; and I believe that the same teamwork will be demonstrated in future for the service of people
48.In Jhelum, a woman impersonating as Chairperson Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell was arrested; as according to spokesperson Jhelum Police, the accused woman, Mehnaaz Saeed, who was reported to be affiliated with PTI from Muzaffargarh, introduced herself to Jhelum City Police as Chairperson of the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell, and demanded protocol and facilities. The spokesperson added that on checking with the Punjab Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell, the accused woman, Mehnaaz Saeed, was disowned, that is the Cell denied any connection with her; so after the forgery was proven, Jhelum Police arrested the accused woman along with her accomplice, registered a case against her, besides recovering alcohol from her vehicle
49.In her message on World No Tobacco Day, said that smoking could prove more dangerous than many fatal diseases and described the use of tobacco as a silent epidemic affecting public health, society and economy. Added that every puff of tobacco is a step towards a new disease, adding that smoking is not merely a habit but a self-destructive act against one’s own health, finances and social well-being. Highlighted that Punjab government is taking measures to ensure a complete ban on smoking in schools, colleges and other educational institutions; and underscored that smoking in government offices, public transport and other public places is a punishable offence, and strict implementation of law would be ensured
50.Said that protecting younger generation from tobacco use remains a priority and that all possible steps would be taken to discourage smoking and vaping among youth. Added that raising awareness about harmful effects of tobacco is not only government’s responsibility but also a collective social obligation. Expressed concern over statistics showing that more than 250,000 deaths in the country are linked to tobacco use; and noted that smoking and vaping could be major contributors to heart attacks among young people. Urged upon citizens to provide their loved ones with a healthy, smoke-free environment and appealed to the public to quit smoking and adopt a healthier lifestyle from today onwards. Said,”Let us pledge to abandon tobacco use and work towards a healthier and safer future for ourselves and the coming generations”
