Govt Focused on Economic Reforms: Attaullah Tarar

Ata Tarar said Tehreek-e-Insaf is experiencing internal fractures.
ISLAMABAD: Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar has stated that the government’s full attention is focused on resolving economic issues. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, we are committed to the agenda of economic reforms with full vigor.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, he said that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is being reorganized, and steps are being taken for FBR digitization. Efforts are underway to bring individuals into the tax net who are capable of paying taxes. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif holds daily meetings on economic matters based on fundamentals.
He said that the burden of taxes will be reduced on the poor people, and taxes will only be levied where there is the ability to bear the burden. Action is being taken against those who do not pay taxes.
Attaullah Tarar said that our goal is also to eradicate terrorism. Prime Minister has repeatedly said that peace was established before, and it will be established again. We have full confidence in the security forces and law enforcement agencies.
He said that the terrorist Karim Jan, who was involved in the Gwadar attack, was included in the list of missing persons. The attack on Gwadar Port was equivalent to an attack on the economy.
He said that the Tehreek-e-Insaf is experiencing internal fractures. There are reports of forward bloc within the Tehreek-e-Insaf. The behavior is childish. The eradication of terrorism from the country is our top priority. Insha’Allah, peace was established before and will be established again. We have full confidence in the security forces, armed forces, and police.
Paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country, he said that Gwadar Port Authority was attacked the other day. Responsibility for this attack was accepted by the BLA. It is a matter of great concern that when Karim Jan’s death was declared, it was being included in the missing persons list since August 2022.

The Federal Minister of Information said that it is extremely worrying that Karim Jan, who was involved in the Gwadar Port Authority attack, was included in the list of missing persons. These are extremely sensitive issues. Gwadar is our commercial center, part of CPEC. An attack on it is an attack on our economy.
He said that for the establishment of peace in the country, the government will play its full role.
