Golf legend Tiger Woods arrested and charged with DUI after car crash
Tiger Woods Arrested for DUI After High Speed Crash on Jupiter Island, Refuses Drug Test
Florida – (Web Desk) – Tiger Woods was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after crashing his car. Later that night, his mugshot was released. His eyes looked bloodshot in the photo.
The incident happened on Jupiter Island just after 2pm local time. That is the same town where Woods lives. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the location.
Sheriff John Budensiek held a press conference about the crash. He said Woods was going at a very high speed when his car hit another vehicle. The impact caused his Land Rover to flip over onto the driver’s side and skid down the road. Surprisingly nobody got hurt. Woods managed to crawl out through the passenger door.
At the jail Woods took a blood alcohol test and passed it. But when officers asked him to give a urine sample he refused. The sheriff said that refusal made them believe Woods was under the influence of a medication or drug rather than alcohol. He was charged with DUI, property damage and refusing to submit to a lawful test.
This is not the first time Woods has been in this kind of trouble. Back in 2017 he was found asleep behind the wheel of a running car at 3am on Jupiter Island. He had taken prescription drugs that night. Then in 2021 he crashed his car again and suffered serious leg injuries that kept him away from golf for the rest of that year.
Pakistan and China Launch Information Corridor to Shape Regional Narrative
What makes this arrest even more surprising is the timing. Woods had just returned to professional golf earlier that same week. He played in the TGL championship after recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon.
