Geostar Ends IPL Broadcast Deal in Bangladesh
Geostar Terminates IPL and WPL Broadcast Contracts in Bangladesh
MUMBAI: (Web Desk) – Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s entertainment company Geostar has ended its broadcasting deal in Bangladesh for the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament.
According to Reuters, Geostar cited repeated payment delays and contractual violations by its local partner as the reason for terminating the agreement.
Earlier this year, Bangladesh had banned IPL broadcasts after the Kolkata Knight Riders excluded Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the team following instructions from the Indian Cricket Board, escalating tensions between the two countries.

Reports indicate that even if the ban is lifted, IPL broadcasts in Bangladesh are unlikely this season.
In addition, Geostar has also terminated its broadcasting contract for the Women’s Premier League in Bangladesh, according to a letter issued on the same date.
