Gandapur Threatens Direct Action If Imran Khan Not Released in Two Weeks
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur Vows to Secure Imran Khan’s Release, Threatens Direct Action
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has vowed to secure the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, warning that if Khan is not freed within the next two weeks, PTI will “take matters into our own hands.”
Gandapur’s declarations came during a large PTI rally in Sangjani, Islamabad, on Sunday, where PTI supporters from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa gathered in substantial numbers. Gandapur was greeted with enthusiastic applause from the crowd.

In his impassioned speech, Gandapur criticized the current government, accusing them of “violating the constitution” and “trampling on the law.” He described the act of opposing “oppressive rulers” as a “jihad” and pledged to continue the struggle against what he termed as systemic oppression.
Gandapur questioned the legitimacy of the ‘NRO’ given to individuals he claimed had “looted billions of rupees.” He argued that Khan’s imprisonment had only strengthened his resolve, while those responsible for his incarceration were left “humiliated.” He asserted that PTI’s support for Khan was based on his commitment to “truth,” and warned that if the “oppression” did not end, they would be prepared to “sacrifice their lives” for the cause.

Addressing the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Gandapur accused the military of “interfering” in politics despite claims of neutrality. He also questioned recent interactions between former DG ISI General Faiz Hameed and the current government, implying undue influence. Gandapur demanded that the military address issues within its own ranks and hold its generals accountable.
Gandapur claimed that his party had appointed General Faiz to significant roles and stated that any misconduct by him would reflect poorly on the current government, while any positive contributions would be attributed to PTI. He emphasized that the military was “our army” and that PTI would take necessary actions to “fix it” if required.

Looking ahead, Gandapur announced that PTI’s next rally would be held in Lahore, irrespective of any required permissions. He warned the government not to “provoke” them, suggesting severe consequences if they did.
He also stated that Imran Khan’s legal cases should be resolved within one to two weeks and insisted that if Khan was not released by then, PTI would take steps to “free him ourselves.” Gandapur expressed his willingness to “take a bullet” for the cause and urged his supporters to remain steadfast, highlighting the rare opportunity presented by Khan’s leadership.
Concluding his speech, Gandapur threatened to “arrest” those responsible for Khan’s imprisonment, asserting that he had “many cases” against them. He declared that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was under Imran Khan’s rule and that his release was imminent.
