French Woman Rescued Khyber Pakhtunkhwa After Living in Fear for Over a Decade

KP BARA – (Web Desk) – A French woman rescued Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has finally found safety after enduring years of alleged abuse at the hands of her Pakistani husband in Bara tehsil.

Police received verified information on June 18, 2026, and immediately raided a house in Khyber district. They found 54-year-old French national Sylvia Yasmina locked inside with her five children.

Sylvia had married a Pakistani man and moved to Bara in 2014. She had been living there ever since, cut off from the outside world and unable to leave freely.

In her statement to police, Sylvia said her husband physically abused her and her children on a daily basis. She claimed they had visible scars on their faces and bodies as proof of the violence they suffered.

One of her five children has hearing and speech impairments, making the situation even more heartbreaking for the family.

After the rescue, Khyber Police shifted Sylvia and her children to the Women Police Station in Peshawar for their safety. A case has been registered against her husband and an investigation is now underway.

Sylvia has expressed her wish to return to France. Pakistan’s Foreign Office has already informed the French Embassy, and diplomatic steps are now in progress.

Capital City Police Officer Dr Mian Saeed confirmed the rescue operation and said authorities are committed to ensuring justice for the victim and her children.
