Charsadda raid exposes illegal CNIC issuance involving NADRA officials
Charsadda: (Web Desk) Federal Investigation Agency has arrested four officials of National Database and Registration Authority during a raid conducted at a NADRA registration centre in Charsadda district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to FIA spokesperson, the arrested individuals include Assistant Director Waqar Ahmad, Attaullah, Ahmad Raza, and Sajjad.
Authorities allege that the suspects were involved in illegally issuing Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) to Afghan nationals without lawful verification. During the operation, FIA teams reportedly recovered key documents, objectionable material, and weapons from the possession of the accused officials.
Officials further stated that Waqar Ahmad was already under investigation in multiple ongoing inquiries. A formal case has been registered, while raids are continuing to apprehend other alleged facilitators linked to the network. Investigations are underway to determine the scale of the operation and identify additional individuals involved.
The FIA also referenced earlier enforcement actions at Karachi Sea Port and Port Muhammad Bin Qasim during May 2026, where multiple foreign crew members were fined for regulatory violations, collecting millions of rupees in penalties.
