FBR to Procure Over 1,000 New Vehicles as Part of Modernization Efforts
FBR has requested the procurement of 1,010 vehicles from a private car manufacturer.
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced plans to purchase more than 1,000 new vehicles, with a total cost estimated at over Rs6 billion, as part of its ongoing transformation initiative aimed at improving operational efficiency.
The acquisition, which will take place in two phases, is a critical component of the FBR’s broader Rs32.5 billion modernization package. In a formal communication, the FBR has requested the procurement of 1,010 vehicles from a private car manufacturer.
As per the plan, the first phase will involve the purchase of 500 vehicles, with an advance payment of Rs3 billion already set aside. The remaining balance will be cleared upon delivery of the initial batch of vehicles. Delivery of the vehicles will occur between January and May this year. In January, 75 vehicles are expected to arrive, followed by 200 in February, and 225 more in March.
The second phase, scheduled to begin in April, will see the delivery of 250 vehicles, with the final batch of 260 vehicles slated for May.
This purchase is aimed at bolstering the FBR’s capacity to execute its tax collection duties more effectively across the country. The vehicles will be used to support various functions and help streamline operations within the organization.
Officials believe that the new vehicles will significantly enhance the FBR’s performance, contributing to its long-term goal of modernizing operations and improving overall efficiency.
