Fahad Mustafa Pays Emotional Tribute to Legendary Actor Qavi Khan
Legends Never Die: Fahad Mustafa Remembers Qavi Khan
Fahad took to Instagram to share a memorable scene from their 2022 film Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad, featuring the late veteran actor holding a framed portrait of Pakistan‘s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Sharing the rain-soaked scene, Fahad wrote: “Legends never die. Their legacy lives for ever.” His heartfelt message highlighted the lasting impact of Qavi Khan’s work and his contribution to Pakistani cinema and television.
In Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad, Qavi Khan portrayed Munawwar Maharaj, the father of Fahad Mustafa’s character, Inspector Gulab. His character represented honesty and responsibility, contrasting with his son’s initial involvement in corruption.
Released in 2022, the action-comedy film also starred Mahira Khan and featured one of Qavi Khan’s final film performances before his death in March 2023.
Born in 1942, Qavi Khan began his acting career as a child performer at Radio Pakistan in 1952. Over the decades, he established himself as one of Pakistan’s most recognised actors, appearing in more than 200 films and hundreds of television productions.
His memorable performances in television dramas, particularly Andhera Ujala, remain an important part of his celebrated career.
In recognition of his services to the entertainment industry, Qavi Khan received the Pride of Performance in 1980 and the Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 2012. He was also awarded the Nishan-i-Imtiaz posthumously.
Qavi Khan passed away on March 5, 2023, but his performances and legacy continue to be remembered by fans and fellow artists.
