ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026: Semi-Finals at The Oval, Final at Lord’s

ISLAMABAD: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced that England will host the 10th edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in June and July 2026, marking the biggest tournament in its history.

For the first time, 12 teams will compete for the prestigious title, expanding the competition and showcasing the growing global reach of women’s cricket. The tournament will begin on June 12 at Edgbaston, with hosts England taking on Sri Lanka.

The teams have been divided into two groups: Group A features defending champions Australia, 2024 runners-up South Africa, India, Pakistan, and two qualifiers; Group B includes England, 2020 champions New Zealand, Sri Lanka, West Indies, and two qualifiers.

The semi-finals are scheduled for June 30 and July 2 at The Oval, with the final to be played at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground on July 5. Over 24 days, 33 matches will be held across seven historic venues, including Edgbaston, Old Trafford, Headingley, and Bristol County Ground.

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt expressed her excitement about playing such a major event on home soil, calling it “a huge moment for our sport” and an opportunity to inspire young fans nationwide.

Tournament Director Beth Barrett-Wild emphasized the event’s importance beyond cricket, highlighting its potential to rewrite the narrative around women’s sport and provide a platform for female athletes to shine.

The 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup promises to be a landmark event for women’s cricket, celebrating sporting excellence and empowering future generations.
