ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – Electricity prices across Pakistan may see an increase as a petition seeking a Rs1.64 per unit hike has been submitted to National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA). The request was filed by the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) under the monthly fuel price adjustment mechanism for February 2026.
NEPRA set to decide tomorrow on Rs1.78 tariff increase
NEPRA has scheduled a hearing on the matter for March 31, after which a final decision will be made. If approved, the proposed increase will also impact consumers of K-Electric, extending its effect nationwide.
Currently, electricity consumers are being billed based on January’s adjustment. The latest proposed hike could further add to the financial burden on households already facing rising utility costs.
