Eight Militants Killed in Security Operations in Balochistan: ISPR

The military's media wing said the operations were conducted on June 25 and 26

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Pakistan’s security forces killed eight militants, including an alleged suicide bomber, during two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Balochistan’s Kharan and Mastung districts, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military’s media wing said the operations were conducted on June 25 and 26 as part of the ongoing counterterrorism campaign aimed at dismantling militant networks.

According to ISPR, the first operation was carried out in Kharan after intelligence reports indicated the presence of suspected militants. Security forces engaged the group, killing three militants, while several others were reportedly injured.

In the second operation, conducted in Mastung on June 26, security forces acted on intelligence regarding the presence of a suspected suicide bomber. Following an exchange of fire, five militants, including the alleged suicide bomber, were killed.

ISPR said weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and motorcycles used by the militants were recovered during the operations. Clearance operations are continuing in the area to eliminate any remaining suspects.

The military stated that the operations are part of Pakistan’s ongoing counterterrorism efforts under the national campaign “Azm-e-Istehkam.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for the successful operations, commending their efforts in eliminating the militants. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continuing counterterrorism operations and said Pakistan would persist in its efforts to eradicate terrorism from the country.
