DUBAI – On Wednesday, the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, was lit up with the Pakistani national flag to celebrate the country’s Independence Day.
A significant number of Pakistani expatriates, including many children, assembled to see the flag displayed on the iconic skyscraper. The attendees conveyed their profound affection for their homeland and prayed for the nation’s continued prosperity.
Earlier in the day, the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai hosted a flag-hoisting ceremony to commemorate Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day. The event saw a strong turnout from the Pakistani community and their families.
Addressing the attendees, Consul General Hussain Muhammad extended his congratulations to the Pakistani community in the UAE on the 77th Independence Day of Pakistan. He remarked, “On August 14, 1947, Pakistan was established as the largest Muslim state in the world under the visionary leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Our ancestors made immense sacrifices to build a sovereign nation where we can live with freedom, dignity, and respect,” as noted in a press release.
