Maulana Never Sought Governorship: Rana Sanaullah
Maulana Fazlur Rehman should be taken on board in the fight against terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rana said.
ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has never demanded a governorship or any other position from the government.
In a statement, Rana Sanaullah said Maulana Fazlur Rehman should be taken on board in the fight against terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He added that he could not comment on whether Maulana Fazlur Rehman had held any discussions with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Rana Sanaullah said he believed that the notices issued in the matter could also be settled.
Commenting on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, the prime minister’s adviser said that Afridi used to tell them he was willing to die for his devotion to PTI founder Imran Khan, while he himself was meeting Mohsin Naqvi.
He further claimed that meetings with Imran Khan had been suspended because messages were being conveyed and political narratives were being developed during those interactions.
Sanaullah said the PTI leadership had repeatedly been asked to stop online trolling, but it failed to comply, leading to the suspension of meetings with the party founder.
