DPM Ishaq Dar denies Pakistan threatened nuclear action against Israel
Ishaq Dar Reaffirms Pakistan’s Defense Readiness, Slams Misinformation Amid Regional Tensions
ISLAMABAD – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Monday delivered a strong message in the Senate, reaffirming Pakistan’s military and nuclear readiness in the face of growing regional tensions. He warned that any hostile action against Pakistan would be met with a decisive and immediate response, emphasizing the unity and resolve of the nation.
“Anyone who looks at Pakistan with an evil eye will have their eye gouged out,” Dar stated firmly. “The Pakistani nation is united, and a brick thrown at us will be answered with a stone. We remain on high alert.”
He reiterated that Pakistan’s nuclear program is a national trust and strategic asset. “Allah Almighty has blessed Pakistan with nuclear and missile capabilities, which ensure not only our own defense but contribute to regional stability,” he said, underscoring that safeguarding this capability remains a national priority.
Dar condemned the recent attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, describing them as “criminal acts” that threaten the fragile peace of the region. He also took aim at India, claiming that its aggressive posturing was neutralized. “India came to its senses after facing consequences and eventually sought U.S. mediation for a ceasefire,” he remarked.
Responding to circulating reports suggesting that Pakistan threatened nuclear action against Israel, Dar strongly rejected them as “fake news.” He criticized the spread of misinformation through international media, including British outlets, and pointed to a resurfaced 2011 interview of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as part of a coordinated disinformation campaign since June 13.
“War is not a joke or child’s play — it’s a grave matter,” Dar cautioned. “We must be vigilant about such misleading narratives and continue to counter disinformation with facts.”
He highlighted ongoing diplomatic efforts, stating that he had maintained close communication with the foreign ministers of Iran and Oman during recent developments. He also noted that Pakistan played a constructive role in the latest United Nations Security Council session, earning appreciation from Iran for its balanced approach.
Separately, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday strongly refuted Israeli media reports alleging a nuclear threat from Pakistan, branding them as “baseless and fabricated.” A spokesperson for the ministry reiterated that Pakistan is a responsible nuclear power and firmly rejects such disinformation.
“These claims are entirely unfounded and aimed at creating unnecessary tensions,” the spokesperson said. “Pakistan has consistently acted as a responsible regional player and will not be drawn into provocative media narratives.”

The disinformation appears to have intensified in the aftermath of Iran’s retaliatory strikes against Israel. Tehran reportedly launched ballistic and hypersonic missiles targeting several Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Occupied Jerusalem, in response to Israeli aggression. The strikes reportedly caused significant casualties and infrastructure damage.
Dar concluded his Senate address by stressing Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and its refusal to be manipulated by narrative warfare. “We will always stand for truth, stability, and responsible diplomacy,” he said.
