Door for Political Dialogue Should Always Remain Open: Attaullah Tarar

The federal minister stressed that political negotiations are crucial for national stability and progress.

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information, Attaullah Tarar, has emphasized the importance of dialogue in politics, stating that the “door for political discussions should always remain open.”

While speaking to the media, the minister highlighted the federal government’s proactive role in addressing the potential flood situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). He said the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) had already issued early warnings regarding possible floods in the region.

Tarar added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is personally monitoring the situation, and the federal government is extending full cooperation to the KP government.

No Politics on Natural Disasters

He reiterated that essential relief items such as medicines, food supplies, tents, and other necessities are being sent to the affected areas. “This is a national issue, and no politics will be done over it. The federal government stands firmly with the KP government and its people,” he stated.

Tarar further mentioned that senior PML-N leader Amir Muqam is actively distributing relief goods among the flood-affected people. “The federal government has dispatched multiple trucks of relief items. This is a natural disaster, and we will continue to assist in every possible way,” he assured.

No Consultation on 27th Constitutional Amendment Yet

Commenting on the ongoing speculation about the 27th Constitutional Amendment, Tarar clarified that no consultations have taken place so far. “So far, we have only heard assumptions through media reports. When the 26th Amendment was proposed, the draft was made public for national discourse,” he said.

He added that any developments regarding the 27th Amendment would also be presented transparently before the nation.

Dialogue Key to National Stability

The federal minister stressed that political negotiations are crucial for national stability and progress. “The Prime Minister believes in dialogue with political parties, and efforts are still underway to bring opposition parties to the table,” he said.
