Ishaq Dar Meets Wang Yi to Discuss Regional Stability Issues
NEW YORK: (Web Desk) – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in New York, where both leaders discussed regional peace, stability, and diplomatic cooperation.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the evolving regional situation and Pakistan’s continued efforts to encourage dialogue and diplomacy for maintaining peace.
Wang Yi appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional stability and reaffirmed China’s strong support for Islamabad’s diplomatic initiatives.
DPM Ishaq Dar To Attend UN Security Council Debate
The discussions also covered the recent successful visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation to China, which both sides described as important for strengthening bilateral ties.
The two leaders reiterated their commitment to deepening the longstanding friendship and strategic partnership between Pakistan and China as the countries celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations.
Ishaq Dar is currently visiting New York at the invitation of Wang Yi and participated in the United Nations Security Council open debate.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson, the session titled “Maintenance of International Peace and Security: Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening Multilateralism” was held on May 26 under China’s presidency of the Security Council.
