Court Rejects Imran Khan’s Bid for Acquittal in £190 Million Allegations
The Accountability Court has denied Imran Khan’s request for acquittal. The next hearing will involve the cross-examination of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigation officer
The Accountability Court of Rawalpindi has denied the acquittal plea submitted by Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in the case involving £190 million.
This ruling was delivered by Judge Nasir Javed Rana during a session held at Adiala Jail. Following the decision, the court has directed Khan’s defense team to question the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigation officer in the next scheduled hearing, set for tomorrow.
The ongoing case, centered around allegations of £190 million misappropriation, is a significant component of the broader investigations into Khan’s activities. The court’s denial of the acquittal plea indicates that the legal proceedings will persist, and the battle in court is far from over.

Additionally, the bail application for Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, remains unresolved and is being considered in conjunction with the main case. Her bail decision is anticipated to be addressed along with the ongoing case proceedings.
Bushra Bibi had previously filed a separate acquittal application related to the same reference. Imran Khan’s legal team has argued that her petition should be reviewed together with Khan’s, due to the connection between their cases.
However, NAB’s lawyers argued that the court has the proper jurisdiction over the case and that the reference should be considered in full. They maintained that the recent Supreme Court ruling does not affect this particular case and that any jurisdictional challenges should have been raised before seeking acquittal.
