Islamabad-Court Delays Decision on PTI Founder and Bushra Bibi’s Bail Until September 19. An Islamabad District Court has extended the interim bail of PTI founder and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in six ongoing cases until September 19.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majuka presided over the case, during which the court requested a report from jail authorities concerning the PTI founder’s video link appearance.

During the hearing, PTI founder’s lawyer Khalid Yusuf mentioned that their bail applications were also being heard in Lahore on the same day and asked for an extension to facilitate arguments in the upcoming session. Yusuf also congratulated Judge Majuka on completing his Umrah pilgrimage.

The court granted the extension of interim bail and directed the jail authorities to provide a report on the feasibility of the PTI founder’s video link appearance. Arguments on the bail applications will resume on September 19.

Decision Pending on Bushra Bibi’s Acquittal in £190m NAB Case

In a related development, an accountability court has reserved its decision on Bushra Bibi’s acquittal plea in the £190 million National Accountability Bureau (NAB) case. The verdict is anticipated to be announced today (Thursday).

Judge Nasir Javed Rana conducted the hearing at Adiala Jail, where both the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi were present. Bushra Bibi’s lawyer, Usman Gul, argued for her acquittal, while NAB Prosecutor General Muzaffar Bassi and Amjad Parvez opposed the plea. The cross-examination of NAB’s final witness was delayed due to the absence of PTI leader Chaudhry Zaheer Abbas, and is rescheduled for September 5.

Additionally, a contempt of court application against the NAB chairman was deemed ineffective by the court.

The hearing for the £190 million corruption case has been postponed until the following day, with significant updates expected, including the ruling on Bushra Bibi’s acquittal.
