CM Sohail Afridi Demands Access to Imran Khan, Dismisses Fake Cabinet List

The court granted protective bail to the Chief Minister and directed the police not to arrest him in any of the cases.

Peshawar — Newly elected Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, has said that those preventing him from meeting PTI founder Imran Khan should realize that he is now the Chief Minister.

Speaking to the media upon his arrival at the Peshawar High Court, Afridi said he was going to meet Imran Khan and hoped the meeting would take place.

“I represent millions of people. Those stopping me from meeting Imran Khan should understand that I am the Chief Minister,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister also dismissed the recently circulated cabinet list as fake, saying the final list would be prepared after consultation with the PTI founder.

Earlier, Sohail Afridi appeared before the Peshawar High Court to seek protective bail in various cases filed against him. The two-member bench comprising Justice Ejaz Anwar and Justice Naeem Anwar heard his plea.

During the hearing, Justice Ejaz Anwar observed that FIRs had been registered against the petitioner. In response, the Advocate General said, “We are not even sure how many FIRs exist — there might even be ones against me.”
