CM Maryam Nawaz reaches Beijing on first official visit
Several officials from the Pakistani Embassy were also present.
BEIJING: Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif arrived in Beijing for her official visit to China, where she received a warm welcome at the Beijing International Airport.
Upon arrival, she was presented with a bouquet, and six senior officials from the Communist Party of China (CPC) were present to greet her. Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, and his wife also welcomed her.
During her visit, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz held a meeting with a high-level delegation from the Communist Party of China.
The delegation, led by CPC Deputy Director General Lin Tao, expressed gratitude and extended a heartfelt welcome to Maryam Nawaz and her team.
In her remarks, the chief minister highlighted the enduring strength of the Pakistan-China friendship, stating, “The bond between our nations is reaching new heights. With China’s collaboration, we aim to elevate Punjab’s economic and developmental trajectory.”

She also expressed her gratitude to the Chinese people on behalf of Punjab and its citizens.
The welcoming delegation included Lin Tao, Deputy Director General of the CPC, Counselor for South Asian Affairs Li Jianyuan, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Southeast Chen Zhanbo, South Asian Affairs Attachés Sheng Guoyou, Chen Yubo, and Zhou Chenyu.
Several officials from the Pakistani Embassy were also present.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is accompanied by Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Information and Culture Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari and other officials, including Bilal Akbar and Ashiq Kirmani.
The chief minister’s eight-day official visit will begin tomorrow, featuring engagements at Chinese hospitals, schools, and various other institutions.
