CM KP Gandapur Awaits Imran Khan’s Call for Civil Disobedience
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced on Tuesday that a civil disobedience movement will be launched only after receiving clear directives from PTI founder Imran Khan. Speaking to the media in Peshawar, Gandapur emphasized his preparedness to act but clarified that the decision rests solely with Khan.
Gandapur expressed his frustration over being unable to meet Imran Khan, who remains incarcerated. He recounted his recent attempt to visit Adiala Jail but said authorities denied him access despite his role as a provincial representative. “As the representative of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, I don’t need anyone’s clearance,” Gandapur stated, criticizing the restrictions imposed on him.
The KP Chief Minister reiterated that the movement would commence strictly under Imran Khan’s orders, underscoring his commitment to the PTI leadership. He also appeared at the Peshawar High Court, where his protective bail was extended until January 16.
The court’s decision came after the federal government submitted reports detailing multiple cases against Gandapur—32 in Islamabad and 33 in Punjab. The court granted a similar protective bail to PTI leader Shibli Faraz, shielding both leaders from arrest until the next hearing.
