Moscow: A deadly explosion in southeastern Moscow has claimed the lives of two men, including Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, head of Russia’s Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defence Forces (NBC). The blast occurred near the entrance of a residential building on Ryazansky Prospekt, as confirmed by Russia’s Investigative Committee.
Eyewitnesses and law enforcement sources report that the explosion, believed to have been caused by an improvised explosive device (IED), rocked the area, causing significant structural damage to the building. Video footage from the scene shows shattered windows, damaged brickwork, and debris scattered across the sidewalk. The bodies of two men, reportedly covered in rubble, could be seen lying near the building’s entrance, with blood pooling nearby.
