Civilians Injured in Border Shelling; Rockets Fired in Quetta
Eyewitnesses described the attack as sudden and powerful
QUETTA (Web Desk) — At least five civilians, including three children, were injured when a mortar shell reportedly fired from across the Afghan border hit a residential house near Angoor Adda in South Waziristan, officials said.
According to security and rescue sources, the shell landed on the home of residents Karim Khan and Rehmatullah, causing injuries to members of the same family. The incident occurred on April 29, 2026.
Medical officials confirmed that all five injured individuals were shifted to hospital, where they are receiving treatment. A doctor identified as Dr Ashfaq said the hospital received multiple casualties from the same incident, though their condition has not yet been officially confirmed.
Eyewitnesses described the attack as sudden and powerful, saying the explosion caused severe damage to the house and panic in the area. Residents said the blast was so strong that it shook nearby structures and left children traumatized.
Security sources stated that armed elements operating across the border have previously targeted civilian areas, while local communities have raised concerns over repeated incidents affecting non-combatants.
