Chief Commissioner, IG Islamabad inspect security arrangements ahead of PTI Long March

Islamabad: (Mudassar Iqbal) – Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Inspector General of Police (IG) Islamabad, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and Additional Deputy Commissioner General visited various parts of the federal capital to review the prevailing law and order situation and security arrangements.

The senior officials inspected security measures at major entry and exit points, important locations and other areas of the city. They reviewed police deployment, traffic management, public safety arrangements and the preparedness of relevant departments to respond to any emerging situation.

The Chief Commissioner said maintaining law and order remains the government and Islamabad Administration’s top priority. He stressed that business communities, traders, professionals, government employees and other citizens should be able to carry out their lawful activities peacefully and in accordance with the law.

He said the law would be enforced without discrimination, adding that Islamabad Administration, Islamabad Police and other law enforcement agencies would take action against activities that threaten public peace, disrupt routine life or cause inconvenience to citizens, in accordance with the law and the Islamabad High Court’s directions.

The Chief Commissioner directed officers to maintain heightened vigilance across Islamabad, particularly at major entry and exit points and sensitive locations. He also stressed close coordination among Islamabad Police, the Capital Development Authority, district administration and other relevant departments.

The IG Islamabad briefed the officials on the prevailing security situation, police deployment and security arrangements across the capital. He also outlined measures being taken to maintain law and order, protect citizens and facilitate smooth movement across the city.

The Chief Commissioner directed police personnel and other concerned officials to remain fully alert and respond promptly to any law and order situation.

The Deputy Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner General briefed the senior officials on administrative arrangements and coordination with field teams.

The officials also directed authorities to strengthen monitoring through Safe City cameras, ensure rapid coordination and maintain timely responses to any emerging situation. Field officers were instructed to remain vigilant while ensuring that citizens, commuters, businesses and other lawful activities are not unnecessarily disrupted.

The senior officials emphasized that peace, public safety and the uninterrupted continuation of lawful economic and social activities are essential for the smooth functioning of the federal capital.

They directed all concerned departments to keep security arrangements at major entry and exit points, sensitive locations and other important areas under continuous review and maintain strong interdepartmental coordination.

The visit concluded with directions for enhanced vigilance, effective law enforcement and coordinated security arrangements to maintain peace, protect citizens and facilitate lawful activities across Islamabad.
