GHQ Hosts PLA Anniversary Ceremony In Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: (Special Reporter) – Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed that the friendship between Pakistan and China is time-tested and continues to grow stronger despite changing regional and global circumstances.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a ceremony was held at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to mark the 99th anniversary of the founding of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA). The event was attended by Chinese Defence Attaché Major General Wang Zhong, officials from the Chinese Embassy, and senior officers from Pakistan’s Army, Navy and Air Force.

Welcoming the distinguished guests, Field Marshal Asim Munir congratulated the PLA on its 99th founding anniversary and praised its contributions to China’s national defence, development, and efforts toward global peace and security.

He said Pakistan and China have maintained a strong and enduring partnership through every regional and international challenge. The Field Marshal added that the Pakistan Armed Forces and the PLA remain close partners committed to promoting peace, stability, and shared strategic interests across the region.

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong thanked Field Marshal Asim Munir for hosting the ceremony and commended the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s armed forces in the fight against terrorism.

The ambassador also reaffirmed China’s commitment to further strengthening the Pakistan-China strategic partnership and expanding bilateral defence cooperation.
