Bilawal Bhutto, Nawaz Sharif Discuss Constitutional Amendment

Islamabad-Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation on Sunday to discuss the country’s political situation and constitutional amendment developments.

According to details, both the former foreign minister and ex-premier held a telephonic conversation. On this occasion, both Nawaz and Bhutto-Zardari had exchanged views on the country’s political situation.

Bhutto-Zardari had also informed Nawaz of the development of talks with the JUI-F over the constitutional amendment. Both the leaders resolved to reach consensus with the political parties over the constitutional amendment.

Few days back, Nawaz and Bhutto Zardari had reached an agreement on constitutional amendments concerning judicial reforms. The two leaders met at Punjab House, where they discussed the current political landscape of the country.

Bilawal Bhutto was warmly welcomed by Nawaz Sharif upon his arrival. Meanwhile, the discussions focused primarily on the need for judicial reforms and the necessary constitutional changes to facilitate these reforms. A key takeaway from the meeting was the commitment to present the proposed amendments in Parliament. Both parties agreed to consult with each other and other political stakeholders to determine the appropriate date for this presentation.
